Evidence review concludes "ME/CFS is underdiagnosed in more than 80% of the people who have it; and at the same time is often misdiagnosed as depression." Evaluating and managing it is challenging for physicians, and it's a challenging and difficult condition for patients. A bio-psycho-social approach to evaluation & management is recommended. “Generally, a very careful approach of limiting exercise intensity does not completely prevent worsening of health status in all people with chronic fatigue syndrome… The results for a minority of the subjects studied here support the notion that the exercise intensity necessary to cause a symptom increase can be quite mild…” and study of other exercise limits to prevent worsening of symptoms & health status in response to exercise is warranted.
