Carson started the Health Buyers Club in 1989 for chronic fatigue syndrome patients, and he has been helping them ever since. Every year, the Health Buyers Club attempts to donate more money to research. In 1995, the Health Buyers Club conducted a joint fundraiser with the CFIDS Association of America which raised $15,000. And remark for the second year in a row, the Buyers Club once again has donated $50,000 of its own profits to the CFIDS Association of America for research. This is in addition to the funds raised from their customer's donations and donations, as well as Carson's own private fundraising from those in the entertainment industry. "We're really pleased to donate the money to such a great cause. I know it is being spent on research that will someday make the difference," said Carson.

Partially as a result of articles in the Saturday Evening Post and the Johns Hopkins University study on neurally mediated hypotension, chronic fatigue syndrome is once again receiving the attention it deserves. Funds, however, are still desperately needed to continue research (See page 8 for more details). "People need to know that their donations are going straight to the CFIDS Association of America, that their money is going to research, and hopefully a cure," concluded Carson. "Now, more than ever, we need their help."
