A-to-Z Information on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

by Tamara Schuit
July 27, 2000

The Concise Encyclopedia of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, by Roberto Patarca-Montero, M.D., PhD, summarizes recent development and facts about CFS and related fatiguing disorders in an easy to follow, alphabetical format.

The book may be of great potential to the CFS patient who has questions about terms related to his or her illness. The book was also designed so medical professionals may use it as a source of information and education.

“The purpose of this encyclopedia is to summarize the knowledge gained and published mainly within the last three years,” says Dr. Partarca-Montero. “The text has been organized in such a way that the reader can easily access and become familiar with the highlights of the most relevant topics.”

The information appears to be well researched, though at times a bit technical. The book also includes a section that lists research articles associated with each of the terms.

Roberto Patarca-Montero, M.D., PhD, HCLD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine, Microbiology, and Immunology and also swerves as Research Director of the E.M. Papper Laboratory of Clinical Immunology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

The Concise Encyclopedia of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is available through Haworth Medical Press at www.haworthpressinc.com or by calling 800-429-6784.
