Subject: "CAM We Talk? Discussing Complementary and Alternative Medicine for CFS and FM"

Dr. Corbin was recommended by Dr. Lucinda Bateman, MD, of Salt Lake City, whose DVDs have been shown at past meetings. In response to our e-mail query, Dr. Corbin replied:

“Yes, I have agreed to be a resource for patients with CFS since Dr. Jones left ... I have modeled my care for CFS patients based on his recommendations. ... I haven't seen too many CFS patients that were patients of Dr. Jones, but we do have a few here and I would welcome more. I do see a lot of FM patients (and really enjoy working with this group) ... I'm open to new patients with CFS or FM or other issues wanting CAM input. ...I'm not doing primary care.”

September 20, 2008: 1 PM - Dr. Jutta Worwag, MD
A German born fifth generation physician, Dr. Worwag was educated at Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic, and has studied under Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum. Her practice has a special focus on CFS/FM and she uses an integrative approach that includes alternative procedures such as medical acupuncture, Meyers IV cocktail, vitamin C IV, B-12 injections, and a far infrared sauna.

October 18, 2008: 1 PM - David Yates, DC, an "Upper Cervical Doctor Chiropractor,"
Educated at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, he is specialized in caring for top two vertebra, and will speak about the importance to FM and CFS patients of proper alignment of the top of the spine at the brain stem area.

November 15, 2008: 1 PM - Joe Swartz, MD, and Gary Clark, MD, of the Center for Healing Injury and Pain in Boulder.
They will speak about five different causes of Fibromyalgia pain, and associated treatment approaches. The discussion is expected to include traditional, alternative, structural, and osteopathic medicine, as well as treatment of post traumatic stress disorder.
