Along with running a national research and clinical center in Annapolis, MD, Dr. Teitelbaum is also the author of From Fatigue to Fantastic, a popular book on the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. He has published numerous research papers, including "Effective Treatment of Severe Chronic Fatigue States" which was recently published in the Journal of Musculoskeletal Pain.

Besides almost twenty years of clinical CFIDS and FM experience, Dr. Teitelbaum also brings to the table his own personal encounter with these debilitating diseases. As a medical student in 1975 at Ohio State Medical School, Teitelbaum himself was inflicted with CFIDS and FM and forced to miss a year of school. His personal experience allows him a unique perspective into the lives of those touched by the diseases that is evident in his clinical practice, his research, and his writing.

More than a medical practitioner, Dr. Teitelbaum's interest in CFIDS and FM go well beyond the doors of his office. His appointment to the Governor's Commission on Complementary Medicine for the State Medical Society in Maryland from 1995-97 demonstrates his willingness to play a proactive role in the legislative battles that plague CFIDS and FM.
