NADH and SAMe Make National Headlines

Enadatm NADH and SAMe, two of Health Resource's top selling products, have both received extensive media coverage in recent months. We thought we'd take this opportunity to update you on both of the "National Newsmakers."

Enadatm NADH Eases the Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Since the original Georgetown study using Enadatm NADH was published in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in February of this year, literally thousands of people began taking the product. The results of that study reported nationally on CNN that month certainly helped spread the word. While many experienced the positive results of NADH within a few days or weeks after beginning supplementation, others were not so quick to benefit. This can be discouraging; whenever we begin something new, be it an exercise program or a new supplement, we are anxious to reap the benefits. The results of a second ongoing, open Enadatm NADH study should help all of those who were not so quick to benefit from NADH do just that. This study provides compelling evidence that the longer you take NADH, the more likely you are to feel its benefits.

The graph shown here illustrates this point dramatically. Although the effects of this second study came out after the press release of the Georgetown study, those taking the product may find its results worthy of just as much attention.

Treat Depression and Joint Pain With SAMe

CFIDS and FM patients can now find relief from two of their most prevalent yet very different symptoms, joint pain and depression, from a single product: SAMe. Recently covered in Newsweek magazine and on Good Morning America, SAMe (S-adenosyl-methionine), is a synthetic replication of a compound that the body makes naturally from methionine, an amino acid found in protein-rich foods. While at work in the body, SAMe helps maintain cell membranes, remove toxins from the body and produce the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin. It is this dopamine and serotonin production that helps treat depression. In this arena, SAMe's almost immediate results have shown to be effective in numerous clinical studies in treating mild "blues" as well as major depression, without the nagging side effects (constipation, agitation, insomnia, sexual dysfunction) of some popular, prescription anti-depressants.

Working to treat an altogether different issue, SAMe generates valuable molecules, including "sulfate groups" that help maintain the cartilage in human joints, thereby bringing relief to arthritis sufferers. Animal studies show that SAMe could help restore damaged cartilage in addition to relieving pain. After only four weeks of treatment, over 22,000 arthritis sufferers reported that SAMe gave comparable results to NSAID pain relievers like ibuprofen, without causing stomach upset which NSAIDs often do.
