The Way SAMe Works

Methylation reactions occur a billion times a second throughout our bodies. SAMe fuels these reactions by giving up its "methyl group." But SAMe later forms homocysteine, which can be toxic unless we consume enough B vitamins to disarm it.

Homocysteine levels As we age, SAMe levels decline (kids have 7 times more than adults) and homocysteine rises.
